Jake Powers held the Springfield Sliders (4-18) scoreless for five innings to boost the Quincy Gems (14-6) to a 4-0 victory.

Powers struck out five and allowed three walks and three hits.

Bryan Niedbalski put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Quincy Gems. He singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.

Matt Rhodes was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
