The Quincy Gems (12-6) blew out the Danville Dans (10-8) 9-2 on Wednesday at Danville Stadium after pouring on eight runs in the second inning.

Bryan Niedbalski had two extra-base hits for the Quincy Gems. He doubled in the second and fourth innings.

Brandon Ley picked up the win for the Quincy Gems. Ley allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings of work.

Jon Rashid ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.

The Quincy Gems were sparked by Stuart Levy and Niedbalski, who teamed up for three hits and five RBIs.
