The Quincy Gems (10-5) beat the Terre Haute Rex (11-6) 4-3 on Monday at Bob Warn Field at Sycamore Stad behind Matt Marek, who had two extra base hits.

Jake Powers picked up the win for the Quincy Gems. Powers pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs, six hits and three walks while striking out six.

Brian Wolfe racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Terre Haute Rex. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Kurt Kudrecki (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
