Devontae Wilson held the Springfield Sliders (3-14) scoreless for 7 2/3 innings to boost the Hannibal Cavemen (7-9) to a 1-0 victory.

Wilson allowed four hits, two walks and struck out six.

Derek Fletcher helped the Hannibal Cavemen take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Damon Waller singled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from first to third on a single by Kyle Kuck.

Zach Nichols had two extra-base hits for the Hannibal Cavemen. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and eighth innings.

Matt Rhodes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed one run.
