A walk-off single from Nate Langhals brought home the winning run for the Lorain County Ironmen (5-4) in a 7-6 victory over the West Virginia Miners (4-6) at The Pipe Yard on Friday.
Langhals was hot from the plate for the Lorain County Ironmen. Langhals went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.
The Lorain County Ironmen were led by a flawless day at the dish by Tyler Coughenour, who went 2-2 against the West Virginia Miners' pitching. He singled in the third and seventh innings.
Griffin Moore was hot from the plate for the West Virginia Miners. Moore went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first and eighth innings.
Andrew Fanning got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered four hits.
Brandon Koch was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
