The Terre Haute Rex drub the Springfield Sliders, 6-0

The Springfield Sliders (2-4) had a tough outing on Thursday, as the Terre Haute Rex (4-1) dominated in a 6-0 win in six innings at Robin Roberts Field.

The Terre Haute Rex scored three runs in the second on a solo home run by Owen Conway and a two-run double by Kyle Kempf.

Kempf had two extra-base hits for the Terre Haute Rex.

The Terre Haute Rex's Kyle Zimmerman kept the Springfield Sliders off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out five.

Brendan Kleekamp was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.

The Terre Haute Rex's Kempf, Tyler Wampler, Atlee Schwab and Conway combined for eight hits and six RBIs.
