A walk-off sacrifice fly from Kyle Desimone brought home the winning run for the Springfield Sliders (1-0) in a 3-2 victory over the Hannibal Cavemen in 11 innings at Robin Roberts Field on Tuesday.
Desimone was hot from the plate for the Springfield Sliders. Desimone went 2-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Wade Rothermich went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for the Springfield Sliders. He singled in the first, third, fifth, and tenth innings.
Ridge Ackerman pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and two walks while striking out five.
Jordan Pesko improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Springfield Sliders. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Kyle Kuck ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
