The Red Deer defeat the Fort McMurray after late game error, 5-4

The Red Deer (2-5) and the Fort McMurray (1-11) passed the lead back and forth five times on Saturday at Red Deer, but in the end the Red Deer pulled out a 5-4 win in seven innings over the Fort McMurray.

The Red Deer finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. An error scored Ty Wagar and gave the Red Deer the lead for good.

Wagar racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Red Deer. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

The Fort McMurray couldn't get anything going as long as Brendan Baker was pitching. Baker held the Fort McMurray hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Kole Waye racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Fort McMurray. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.

Dylan Borman got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed four runs over five innings. Borman struck out five, walked two and gave up five hits.

Regan Gillis was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
