Mike Barsotti threw a shutout to lift the Joliet Slammers (33-47) to a 6-0 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (44-36) at Silver Cross Field.

The Joliet Slammers blew out the Southern Illinois Miners thanks to nine hits, including zero extra base hits. A three-run home run by Niko Vasquez helped the Joliet Slammers score three runs in the seventh. The Joliet Slammers had two hits in the inning.
Vasquez racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers.
Pete Perez (4-2) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He lasted just three innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
