Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

Schwaner stars as the Evansville Otters defeat the Gateway Grizzlies, 4-2

Story by Narrative Science.

An impressive effort by Nick Schwaner spurred the Evansville Otters (38-40) to a 4-2 win over the Gateway Grizzlies (45-34) on Friday at Bosse Field.

Schwaner rocked the Gateway Grizzlies with two home runs. Schwaner went 3-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. Schwaner homered in the fourth and sixth innings.

Anthony Collazo brought the heat against the Gateway Grizzlies during his outing. Collazo held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

The Evansville Otters couldn't get anything going so long as Luke Westphal was on the hill. The Evansville Otters managed just one hit off of Westphal, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 1 1/3 innings of work.

Chris Enourato ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
