The Florence Freedom (43-35) and the Evansville Otters (37-40) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Florence Freedom that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-4 win at UCMC Stadium.

Jacob Tanis racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Florence Freedom. He singled in the first innings and doubled in the third inning.

The Evansville Otters' John Schultz was perfect at the dish, going 4-4. He singled in the fourth and sixth innings and doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Brandon Mathes recorded his fifth win of the year for the Florence Freedom. Mathes struck out one, walked two and gave up no hits.

Scott Weismann (4-2) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
