Both the Schaumburg Boomers (44-30) and the Evansville Otters (36-37) put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 2-1 win at Bosse Field.
Ryan Gibson was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Schaumburg Boomers batters and allowing two runs.
Adam Tollefson got the win, running his season record to 2-0. Tollefson struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Gibson (0-5) took the loss for the Evansville Otters.
