The Traverse City Beach Bums (44-29) and the Gateway Grizzlies (44-30) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Traverse City Beach Bums that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-4 win at Wuerfel Park.

Chase Burch racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the second inning and homered in the third inning.

The Gateway Grizzlies' lineup had no answer for Matt Miller. Miller gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies' Chris McClendon. McClendon went 3-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the fifth and ninth innings.

Jacob Clem improved to 6-6 on the year by picking up the win for the Traverse City Beach Bums. Clem struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.

Tucker Jensen ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
