Chris McClendon went 2-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Gateway Grizzlies (43-29) to a 4-2 victory over the Rockford Aviators (27-44) on Thursday at GCS Ballpark.
He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.Matt Sergey struck out seven, paving the way for a the Gateway Grizzlies win. Sergey allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks over six innings.
Nick Cicio (2-5) took the loss for the Rockford Aviators. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
