Early boost from Tanis helps the Florence Freedom get past the Evansville Otters, 6-3

The Florence Freedom (38-31) jumped on the Evansville Otters (32-36) early on their way to a 6-3 win on Sunday at Bosse Field, scoring three runs in the first inning.

Byron Wiley led the Florence Freedom's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and homered in the fifth inning.

Frank Martinez racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Evansville Otters. He tripled in the first inning.

Dan Jensen improved to 6-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Florence Freedom. He allowed three runs over six innings. Jensen struck out three, walked two and gave up eight hits.

Ryan Gibson (0-4) took the loss for the Evansville Otters. He lasted just three innings, walked five, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
