Thursday was a great day for Dave Middendorf, as Middendorf threw a shutout to carry the Lake Erie Crushers (31-27) to a 1-0 victory over the River City Rascals at All Pro Freight Stadium.

The Lake Erie Crushers' Middendorf kept the River City Rascals (27-31) off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on five hits while ringing up five.

Kyle Owings couldn't get it done on the bump for the River City Rascals, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed one run.
