Mike Schwartz went 2-4, sparking the Normal CornBelters (33-26) to a 6-4 victory over the Joliet Slammers (26-33) on Tuesday at Silver Cross Field.

Luis Noel picked up the win for the Normal CornBelters. Noel pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed one earned run, three hits and five walks while striking out four.

Nate Wilder racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He doubled in the eighth inning.

Jonathan Gonzalez looked sharp on the mound. Gonzalez held the Normal CornBelters hitless over 2 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Andrew Busby ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked six, struck out four, and allowed four runs.
