The Joliet Slammers (22-29) and the Rockford Aviators (16-34) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Joliet Slammers that eventually took advantage of them in a 6-5 win at Silver Cross Field.

David Christensen racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Chase Doremus struck out nine hitters en route to the the Joliet Slammers win. The Joliet Slammers' pitcher tossed four innings of shutout ball and allowed only two hits.

Kenny Bryant was solid at the plate for the Rockford Aviators. Bryant went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and seventh innings.

Jake Nicholson was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
