Early lead gives the River City Rascals easy victory over the Gateway Grizzlies, 12-2

The River City Rascals (21-27) jumped out to an early lead on the Gateway Grizzlies (30-18) and captured a 12-2 victory on Thursday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.

With 10 runs in the first three innings, the River City Rascals left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

in the first inning and a solo home run by Danny Canela, an RBI single by Steve Carrillo, a double by Will Block, , , and a three-run single by Phil Wunderlich during the second inning helped the River City Rascals put some runs on the board early.

Canela racked up four RBIs on one hit for the River City Rascals.

Chandler Jagodzinski put together a nice outing. Jagodzinski held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Casey Barnes improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. He allowed two runs over six innings. Barnes struck out four, walked three and gave up nine hits.

Tucker Jensen couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Gateway Grizzlies, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out none.
