Both the Joliet Slammers (16-23) and the Schaumburg Boomers (23-17) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 3-1 win at Silver Cross Field.
Corey Kimes improved to 3-4 on the year by picking up the win for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed one run over five innings. Kimes struck out two, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Cody Griebling was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
