Extra-inning thriller favors the Rockford Aviators, 4-3 winners over the Normal CornBelters

The Rockford Aviators (10-28) needed 12 innings on Sunday to take down the Normal CornBelters (21-18) 4-3 at Aviator Stadium.

With the score tied at three in the twelfth inning, Kenny Bryant came to the plate and singled, plating Brandon Newton.

Newton did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Rockford Aviators, reaching base five times. He singled in the fifth inning and doubled in the twelfth inning.

Matt Frahm looked sharp on the mound. Frahm held the Normal CornBelters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Alan Oaks (2-3) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
