David Harris had two extra base hits, helping the Florence Freedom (24-15) to a 10-7 victory over the Gateway Grizzlies (25-13) on Sunday at GCS Ballpark.
He doubled in the fourth inning, homered in the seventh inning, and singled in the ninth inning.Brandon Mathes had an impressive outing against the Gateway Grizzlies' lineup. Mathes held the Gateway Grizzlies hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Jon Myers was hot from the plate for the Gateway Grizzlies. Myers went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the eighth inning.
The Florence Freedom's lineup had no answer for Logan Mahon. Mahon held the Florence Freedom hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Jason Wilson recorded his second win of the year for the Florence Freedom. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered seven hits.
Tucker Jensen couldn't get it done on the mound for the Gateway Grizzlies, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked two and struck out five.
Jim Jacquot, Byron Wiley and Harris helped lead the Florence Freedom. They combined for six hits and six RBIs.
