An ace performance by Bryce Morrow carried the Evansville Otters (22-14) to a 6-1 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (19-18) on Friday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

The Evansville Otters relied on Morrow to eat up innings en route to the win. Morrow allowed one earned run, three hits and one walk while striking out seven over nine innings of work.

J.R. Higley delivered a big hit off the bench in the one.. His pinch-hit single was the key moment in the Evansville Otters' five-run win.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Higley came to the plate and singled, plating John Schultz.

Schultz racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Evansville Otters. He singled in the first and second innings.

Brian Oliver was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just two innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
