The Windy City ThunderBolts (17-24) and the Normal CornBelters (21-19) both had scoring chances on Thursday, but it was the Windy City ThunderBolts that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 6-4 win at Standard Bank Stadium.

Zach Aakhus was hot from the plate for the Windy City ThunderBolts. Aakhus went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and second innings.

T.J. Gavlik was hot from the plate for the Normal CornBelters. Gavlik went 2-3 and drove in one. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

Colin OConnell improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Tyler Lavigne ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out four.
