An impressive effort by Matt Rein hoisted the Lake Erie Crushers (14-16) to a 5-0 win over the Normal CornBelters (17-13) on Thursday at All Pro Freight Stadium.
Rein's 11 strikeouts were enough to push the Lake Erie Crushers past the Normal CornBelters. The Lake Erie Crushers' pitcher gave up just one hit over nine shutout innings.
Russell Moldenhauer racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Lake Erie Crushers. He homered in the first inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Luis Noel (2-2) took the loss for the Normal CornBelters. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
