The Traverse City Beach Bums (14-11) took down the Joliet Slammers (11-14) 12-2 on Friday at Wuerfel Park after slamming the Joliet Slammers with seven runs in the eighth inning.

Zach Kometani racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He doubled in the fifth inning, homered in the eighth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

The Joliet Slammers couldn't get anything going as long as Chris Squires was on the mound. Squires held the Joliet Slammers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Scott Dunn recorded his fifth win of the year for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Corey Kimes ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
