A superb effort by Blake Nation hoisted the Southern Illinois Miners (12-12) to a 4-1 win over the Rockford Aviators (4-19) on Thursday at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Nation kept the Rockford Aviators off the board during his seven innings of work. Nation allowed two hits, three walks and struck out six.

Tyler Stubblefield put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the Southern Illinois Miners. He doubled in the first and seventh innings.

Drew Rucinski was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed three runs.

The Southern Illinois Miners were sparked by Stubblefield and Tyler Hall, who teamed up for four hits and two RBIs.
