An ace performance by Drew Rucinski led the Rockford Aviators (3-15) to a 2-0 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (5-15) on Friday at Aviator Stadium.
Rucinski kept contact to a minimum, striking out 11 the Windy City ThunderBolts batters. The Rockford Aviators' pitcher gave up just four hits over eight shutout innings.
Matt Greener pushed the Rockford Aviators ahead, in the eighth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Ted Obregon to get on base in the eighth. He then went from first to third on a double by Kenny Bryant.
Tyler Claburn (2-1) took the loss for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
