A walk-off from David Medina brought home the winning run for the Normal CornBelters (11-4) in a 2-1 victory over the River City Rascals (7-7) in 12 innings at The Corn Crib on Friday.
Medina paced the Normal CornBelters at the plate. Medina went 2-4. He singled in the first and ninth innings and doubled in the eleventh inning.
Ryan Demmin pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three.
Mitch Mormann improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Normal CornBelters. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Kelii Zablan ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
