The Normal CornBelters (4-1) and the Windy City ThunderBolts (1-5) passed the lead back and forth five times on Tuesday at The Corn Crib, but in the end the Normal CornBelters pulled out a 7-6 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts.

Romulo Ruiz racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Normal CornBelters. He singled in the first and fifth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

The Windy City ThunderBolts had no answer for Casey Upperman, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Upperman held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two.

Lyndon Estill got on base three times in the game for the Windy City ThunderBolts. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Mitch Mormann recorded his first win of the year for the Normal CornBelters. He allowed three runs over 2 1/3 innings. Mormann struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.

Rich Hawkins couldn't get it done on the hill for the Windy City ThunderBolts, taking a loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
