Scott Dunn held the Joliet Slammers (2-1) scoreless for seven innings to boost the Traverse City Beach Bums (1-2) to a 6-2 victory.

Dunn struck out five and allowed no walks and four hits.

Jose Vargas racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Traverse City Beach Bums. He singled in the third innings and doubled in the sixth and eighth innings.

Brett Zawacki ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
