An ace performance by John Brownell lifted the Long Island Ducks (11-19) to a 10-0 win over the Camden Riversharks (9-21) on Monday at Campbells Field.
The Long Island Ducks' Brownell kept the Camden Riversharks off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on four hits while ringing up seven.
The Long Island Ducks blew out the Camden Riversharks thanks to 15 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Long Island Ducks scored three runs in the first on a solo home run by Danny Perales, a sacrifice fly by Bryant Nelson, and a solo home run by Ramon Castro.
Castro put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Long Island Ducks.
Josh Walter ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out one.
Perales, P.J. Phillips, Adam Bailey and Castro helped lead the Long Island Ducks. They combined for eight hits and seven RBIs.
