The Somerset Patriots (8-4) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to the Long Island Ducks (3-9) on Wednesday.

Nelson blasted two home runs for the Long Island Ducks. Nelson went 2-3 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Nelson homered in the fourth and seventh innings.
Matt Way baffled the Somerset Patriots, striking out eight batters. Way allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks over six innings.
Connor Graham improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Long Island Ducks. Graham struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Brad Thompson ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
