The Marthas Vineyard Sharks (17-8) beat the Seacoast Mavericks (10-16) 6-1 on Friday at Vineyard Baseball Park behind Nick Sell, who had three extra base hits.
He doubled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings and singled in the eighth inning.The Seacoast Mavericks couldn't get anything going as long as Matt Timoney was on the mound. The Seacoast Mavericks managed just two hits off of Timoney, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his seven innings of work.
Justin Thomas couldn't get it done on the bump for the Seacoast Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
