Ty France went 1-3 and hit a home run, sparking the Bethesda Big Train (15-4) to a 3-2 victory over the Rockville Express (12-9) on Friday at Shirley Povich Field.

Bubba Derby handled the Rockville Express' lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Derby allowed no earned runs on two hits and two walks over six innings.

A bright spot for the Rockville Express in the defeat was Joshua Baker, who allowed only one run while striking out five.

Marquis Curry boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Rockville Express. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Brock Larson got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Larson struck out three, walked two and gave up no hits.

Matthew Moser (1-1) took the loss for the Rockville Express. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
