The San Francisco Seagulls (12-26) didn't put up much of a fight on Wednesday, as the Alameda Merchants (24-9) cruised to a blowout 9-1 win at Fairmont Field.
The Alameda Merchants scored three runs in the fifth on an RBI single by JR Davis, a groundout by Joe Armstrong, and an error.
Davis racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Alameda Merchants.
The San Francisco Seagulls' lineup had no answer for Chris Heckert. The San Francisco Seagulls managed just two hits off of the the Alameda Merchants' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out five during his three innings of work.
Dean Aliamus got the win, running his season record to 2-0. Aliamus struck out two, walked two and gave up one hit.
