An ace performance by Frank Waliczek hoisted the Walnut Creek Crawdads to a 5-1 win over the San Francisco Seagulls (3-11) on Wednesday at St. Marys College.
Waliczek's 12 strikeouts were enough to push the Walnut Creek Crawdads past the San Francisco Seagulls. Waliczek allowed no earned runs on two hits and one walk over six innings.
The Walnut Creek Crawdads were led by Eric Danforth's hitting. Danforth went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the seventh innings.
The Walnut Creek Crawdads couldn't get anything going as long as Sam Alton was pitching. The Walnut Creek Crawdads managed just one hit off of Alton, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.
Justin Eclavea couldn't get it done on the bump for the San Francisco Seagulls, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
