A walk-off error from Joe Armstrong brought home the winning run for the Alameda Merchants (5-1) in a 5-4 victory over the Atwater Aviators (4-8) at College of Alameda on Wednesday.

It was a good day at the plate for the Alameda Merchants' Armstrong. Armstrong went 1-5 and scored one run. He singled in the eighth innings.

Jordan Grubbs had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the eighth innings.

Chris Heckert looked sharp on the mound. The Atwater Aviators managed just one hit off of Heckert, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Ricky Delgado improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alameda Merchants. Delgado struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.

Cyle Bettis couldn't get it done on the hill for the Atwater Aviators, taking a loss. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
