The Alameda Merchants need extra frames to finish the South Bay Storm, win 3-2

The Alameda Merchants (18-8) took home a marathon 3-2 victory over the South Bay Storm (12-20) on Saturday at Fairmont Field.

With the score tied at two, grounded out, scoring JR Davis.

The Alameda Merchants were led by Davis' hitting. Davis went 3-7 and scored one run. He singled in the first, fourth, and eighteenth innings.

The South Bay Storm couldn't get anything going so long as Austin Wiggins was on the hill. The South Bay Storm managed just two hits off of Wiggins, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Travis Bonner led the South Bay Storm's offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the fifth inning and tripled in the fourteenth inning.

Dean Aliamus improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Alameda Merchants. Aliamus struck out four, walked one and gave up one hit.

Bonner couldn't get it done on the rubber for the South Bay Storm, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed one run.
