Down one run in the ninth, the Rockford RiverHawks (35-48) recovered thanks to Evan Button's in the ninth, and pulled out a 5-1 win over the Normal CornBelters (28-55) on Saturday at The Corn Crib.

The Rockford RiverHawks were led by Matt Greener's hitting. Greener went 3-5, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.
The Rockford RiverHawks relied on Ziggie VanderWall to eat up innings en route to the win. VanderWall pitched eight innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and two walks while striking out four.
A bright spot for the Normal CornBelters in the defeat was Tyler Lavigne, who allowed only two runs while striking out nine.
Lavigne was charged with his eighth loss of the year.
