The Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox (4-1) built an early edge on Wednesday, but the Wareham Gatemen (5-0) roared back to steal a 5-4 victory at Red Wilson Field.
While the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox led until the ninth inning, the Wareham Gatemen worked their way back and took the lead on a solo home run by Tyler Ross.
Ross racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Wareham Gatemen. He singled in the seventh innings and homered in the ninth inning.
A bright spot for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in the defeat was Andrew Thurman, who allowed only three runs while striking out 12.
Jonathan Holder got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.
