An awesome effort by Kody Gorden led the Willmar Stingers (1-1) to a 4-0 win over the Mankato MoonDogs on Tuesday at Franklin Rogers Park.

Gorden held the Mankato MoonDogs (1-1) scoreless for eight innings. Gorden struck out eight and allowed one walk and six hits.

Forrestt Allday reached base four times. He singled in the third and ninth innings.

Boomer Scarborough couldn't get it done on the mound for the Mankato MoonDogs, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out seven, and allowed two runs.
