A walk-off single from Joe Meggs brought home the winning run for the La Crosse Loggers (2-0) in an 8-7 victory over the Wisconsin Woodchucks in 11 innings at Copeland Park on Tuesday.
Bobby Juan had a hot bat for the La Crosse Loggers. Juan went 4-5 and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth, ninth, and eleventh innings.
The Wisconsin Woodchucks (0-2) had no answer for Matt Levert, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Levert held the Wisconsin Woodchucks hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Michael Wills got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Wills struck out one, walked none and gave up no hits.
Brett Higginbotham couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Wisconsin Woodchucks, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
