Early lead gives the Worcester Tornadoes easy victory over the Kansas City T-Bones, 8-1

The Worcester Tornadoes refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Kansas City T-Bones (43-38), recording an 8-1 victory on Saturday at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Worcester Tornadoes to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Ryan Brockett and a three-run home run by Chris Torres during the first inning and a two-run home run by Brendon Kelliher in the second inning fueled the Worcester Tornadoes' offense early.

Kelliher racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Worcester Tornadoes.

Dan Sausville picked up the win for the Worcester Tornadoes. Sausville pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out four.

Josh Rainwater ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.
