Rony Rodriguez had two extra base hits as the Quebec Capitales (50-28) took home a 2-1 victory over the Newark Bears (25-54) in seven innings at Le Stade Municipal on Saturday.
He doubled in the third inning and homered in the seventh inning.The Quebec Capitales relied on Jamie Richmond to eat up innings en route to the win. Richmond pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, eight hits and one walk while striking out three.
Greg Lane ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
