The Amarillo Sox cough up lead, the Gary SouthShore RailCats win 5-4

The Gary SouthShore RailCats (36-41) trailed by one in the eleventh, but Brian Kolb was able to capture the lead back with a single in the sixteenth, spurring the Gary SouthShore RailCats to a 5-4 win in 16 innings over the Amarillo Sox (36-41) at U. S. Steel Yard on Wednesday.

With the score tied at four, Kolb came to the plate and singled, bringing home Mike Massaro.

Kolb did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, reaching base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the twelfth and sixteenth innings.

Dexter Carter improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. Carter struck out three, walked one and gave up no hits.

Trent Lare (2-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
