The bats were busy at East Islip Marina Field #4 on Monday, and when the dust cleared the Masterbatters (Intrieri (13-10) had a 10-8 win over the Polar Beers (13-12) in seven innings.

The teams totaled 24 hits in the game.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the sixth, with four lead changes.

The Masterbatters (Intrieri finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. A fielder's choice scored Jess Belkin and gave the Masterbatters (Intrieri the lead for good.

The Masterbatters (Intrieri held off the Polar Beers, as the Polar Beers were unable to overcome a five-run sixth inning deficit.

The Polar Beers scored three runs in the sixth on a three-run home run by Matt Stoller. Still, the Polar Beers couldn't draw even.

Chris R racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Masterbatters (Intrieri. He singled in the third inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and homered in the sixth inning.

Even though R allowed eight runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. R struck out one, walked two and gave up 12 hits.

Justin Russo (0-2) took the loss for the Polar Beers. He allowed 10 runs in seven innings, walked five and struck out three.
