A walk-off single from Matt Lowenstein brought home the winning run for the Alexandria Beetles (28-34) in a 12-11 victory over the Mankato MoonDogs (39-23) at Knute Nelson Memorial Park on Saturday.
Lowenstein got on base four times in the game for the Alexandria Beetles. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third and ninth innings.
The two teams combined for 23 runs and 29 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Anthony Bazzani improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Alexandria Beetles. Bazzani struck out none, walked two and gave up one hit.
Matt Marsh (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
