Charlie Law brought home the winning run to give the North Adams SteepleCats (1-1) the lead in the seventh inning, as the North Adams SteepleCats hung on to beat the Danbury Westerners (1-1) 4-2 on Saturday.

Jeff Roy singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Shane Klemcke. Finally, Law came to the plate with the score tied at two in the seventh inning, and reached on an error, bringing home Roy.

Matt Longfield pitched lights out for the North Adams SteepleCats. Longfield held the Danbury Westerners hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Adam Sargent recorded his first win of the year for the North Adams SteepleCats. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Brett Houseal (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
