The New Bedford Bay Sox (1-0) outlasted the Laconia Muskrats (0-1) on Friday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 6-3 win at Paul Walsh Field.

The New Bedford Bay Sox pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. Scored Carl Anderson and gave the New Bedford Bay Sox the lead for good.

Sean Riley paced the New Bedford Bay Sox at the plate. Riley went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Colton Cross recorded his first win of the year for the New Bedford Bay Sox. He allowed three runs over six innings. Cross struck out three, walked four and gave up seven hits.

Kyle Mullen (0-1) took the loss for the Laconia Muskrats. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out five.
